Yet at Avepto, our day-to-day experience shows just the opposite: non-technical IT customers are often those with whom we build the strongest relationships, the smoothest projects and the most lasting results.

This is not to denigrate “geek” profiles – quite the contrary. It’s just that we want to emphasize what is all too often forgotten: the power of trust, listening and common sense in the customer-supplier relationship.

Confidence before technical details

A non-technical customer isn’t looking to validate every DNS configuration or every log line. He simply wants everything to work, and to work well. This posture of conscious delegation is invaluable.

One day, one of our customers said to us:
“I don’t want to know how you do it, I just want to make sure everything runs smoothly.”

This trust engages us far more than any technical supervision. It makes us accountable. Because if the customer doesn’t check every step, it’s our own reliability that’s at stake. And that pushes us to give our best.

Less interference, more results

Technical customers sometimes tend to intervene in processes, suggest tools or question certain decisions. Out of habit, sometimes out of passion. This can be stimulating, but it can also slow down the pace of the project.

Non-technical customers, on the other hand, set a clear framework (objectives, needs, constraints) and leave the professional free to execute.

The result is faster project completion, less friction and greater team empowerment.

Intuition of the essential

What some see as a lack of competence is often a form of strategic clarity. Technophile customers ask simple, essential questions:

What’s it for?

Does it really improve things?

Is it useful for my employees?

This type of question brings us back to basics. It avoids getting lost in complex solutions for simple problems. And it pushes us to align technology with business reality.

The power of simple questions

We still have in mind the entrepreneur who always asked the same question about a basic operation. Rather than answering them mechanically, we ended up creating a clear sheet, integrated into our support tool.

Result: Faster responses for all our customers, and hours saved in the long term.

As is often the case, it’s the outside view (naive but relevant) that brings about the best internal improvements.

Less jargon, more impact

Non-technical customers force us to move away from insider language. No VPN split tunneling or MySQL clustering: they want to know that their files are protected, that their e-mails arrive, that their teams can work without interruption.

And this demand for clarity is a blessing. It drives us to explain, document and popularize, making our work more understandable, more useful and more human.

Stronger, more human relationships

Finally, it has to be said: non-technical customers are often those with whom we forge the most lasting human relationships.. They don’t want to test us. They want us to trust them.

They call to check on us. They thank us sincerely. And above all, they recommend us… not because we impress them, but because we make them feel better.

Added value even for IT security

Users with little technical know-how are often perceived as a cybersecurity risk. And yet, with the right support, they can become allies.

Training, awareness-raising and best practices help avoid risky behavior (phishing, weak passwords, insecure sharing, etc.).

The NCSC (Swiss Federal Office of Cybersecurity) recommends simple, accessible awareness-raising measures for all employees, whatever their level.

At Avepto, we integrate this approach into our services. Training without drowning, empowering without complicating, and building an environment where even the least technical can work serenely.

Conclusion: we like non-technical IT customers

Because they force us to get back to basics: making things work, making things safe, simplifying things.

Because they remind us that IT is a service business, serving other businesses.

And because they prove, day after day, that technical understanding is not a prerequisite for successful collaboration. Trust, clarity, honesty: that’s what makes a good partnership.

And these values never fail.

At Avepto, our experience shows that non-technical IT customers are often those with whom we build the strongest relationships, the smoothest projects and the most lasting results.

[56
69,67,68,77,66
post-106222","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-it-for-smes","tag-computer-literacy","tag-computer-pedagogy","tag-customer-relationship","tag-it-support-2","tag-sme-customers
["GET
